A fast-moving casting carousel is hitting General Hospital this week, giving fans a temporary new face before a major character transformation next month.

When the Wednesday, June 17 episode airs, viewers will notice a quick change in the role of Scout Cain, the daughter of Drew Cain and the late Sam McCall. Young actress Reagan Park is stepping in to play the character, but her visit to Port Charles will be incredibly short-lived.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Park’s appearance is a one-time-only deal. She was brought in as a quick substitute for regular actress Cosette Abinante, who simply wasn't available on the specific afternoon this episode was tracked for production.

The Real-Time Casting Breakdown:

• Wednesday, June 17: Reagan Park fills in for a single episode.
• July 2026: Kayden Brenna Tokarski takes over permanently as an aged-up Scout.

A Transition to a Brand-New Era

While a 24-hour recast typically flies under the radar, this short swap lands right at a major crossroads for the character. Abinante, who has played the recurring role since 2022, is officially ending her run on the ABC daytime drama.

The temporary substitution sets the stage for a much larger narrative shift. In July, General Hospital is officially aging up Scout into a teenager to launch fresh high school storylines. Daytime newcomer Kayden Brenna Tokarski has been tapped to take over the role for the long haul.

Eagle-eyed fans previously caught their first glimpse of Tokarski on set when she appeared alongside the cast and crew in a behind-the-scenes video celebrating GH's milestone 16,000th episode.
