Rachel Boyd Returns As Sophia
Reach Boyd will step back into the role of Sophia Choi for the October 9 episode.
Boyd joined Days of Our Lives as Sophia in 2025, taking over the road previously played by Madelyn Kientz.
When Sophia resurfaces, she isn't exactly back to her old life.
She is working as a waitress at a diner when Kristen DiMera comes face-to-face with the young woman she thought was gone for good.
Sophia Choi is Alive
Sophia's fate has been hanging over days of our life since April, after everything spiraled out of control.
Kristen knocked Sophia unconscious and had sent her into the river seemingly bringing her story to a deadly end but which no definitive end to Sophia's story on screen there was always a room for another twist. And with no body found? That makes it even better!
Now we know exactly what the twist is: Sophia survived, and while Salem has carried on believing she was dead, she has apparently been living a very different life away from everyone she left behind.
The bigger question is
What Happens Once Kristan Realizes The Truth ?
Sophia being alive could reopen everything that happened before her disappearance.
That encounter could put Sophia in a difficult position.
If Kristen knows she survived keeping her new life hidden may no longer be an option.
Sophia will eventually have to decide whether she is ready to face the people she left behind and everything that happened before she vanished.
There is also a question of why Sophia stayed away.
Whether she chose to start over or felt she had no choice should become clearer once she is put back into the lives of people she left behind.
Rachel Boyd's return put Sophia back in play just as several Salem storylines are beginning to shift. Viewers can see her first appearance back on Days of Our Lives on Friday, October 9 on Peacock.
