Abby Newman brought some color to Genoa City this week on The Young and the Restless. Melissa Ordway wore a colorful dress that stood out, so we’re taking a closer look at what she wore.
A Closer Look at Abby’s Dress
Abby wore the Stripe Asymmetric Maxi Dress by Desigual, featuring pink, yellow, green, blue and neutral tones. The colors run vertically across the dress, while the asymmetric sleeves add some shape to the design.
She kept the rest of the look simple with straight blonde hair and minimal accessories, allowing the dress to remain the focus.
Abby also wore multicolored statement earrings. They worked with the colors in the dress without taking too much attention away from it.
Why the Look Stood Out
The color is what caught our attention first. The mix of shades gives the dress a relaxed feel without looking too busy.
The cinched waist also gives it some shape, while the longer length keeps the look balanced.
It is a little different from some of the more polished looks we usually see Abby wearing in Genoa City.
Abby Keeps It Simple
Abby usually goes for polished looks, but every now and then she wears something with more color or personality.
This dress works because she did not overstyle it. The print already has a lot going on, so keeping the hair and accessories simple was the right choice.
