Beyond The Gates viewers have gotten to know Bradley "Smitty" Smith as Martin Richardson's husband and the father of Tyrell and Samantha, but we still don't know much about the family he came from. That may finally change.
During an interview with TV Source Magazine, Mike Manning was asked whether viewers would eventually learn more about Smitty's background and family.
Manning couldn't give anything away, but he did hint that fans hoping to meet Smitty's relatives may be onto something.
When asked about Smitty's family, Manning said: "I can't say anything, but I can say that if you think we're going to learn a little bit about Smitty's family, I think you are right".
Mike Manning's Tease Has Us Curious
While Manning didn't confirm that new characters have been cast or reveal when Smitty's family could appear, what he did acknowledge was that viewers expecting to learn more about them might be heading in the right direction.
That leaves plenty of possibilities that the show could introduce one relative first rather than bringing in an entire family at once.
Well, whoever arrives could also tell us more about Smitty's life before Fairmont Crest and his relationship with Martin.
Smitty Could Use a Story of His Own
Smitty has had plenty to do, particularly with his work as an investigative journalist, but introducing his relatives could open up a different side of the character.
So far, viewers mostly know Smitty as a husband, father, and journalist. Seeing him interact wth people who knew him before Martin could tell us a lot about who he is and where he comes from.
Could The Smith Family Be Coming to Fairmont Crest?
Nothing has been officially announced as yet, so there's no confirmation that Smitty's relatives are about to arrive.
Still, Manning's comment makes the possibility a lot more interesting.
After spending so much time with the Duprees and the Richardsons, it would be nice to finally learn more about the other side of the Smitty's family
Would you like to meet Smitty's family? And who would you like to see introduced first? Let us know in the comments
